The YCCD Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program ensures the safety of the YCCD community. We work with our community members to prevent accidents, report unsafe campus conditions and protect the campus and community environment.

Mission Statement: "The YCCD EHS provides professional guidance and training services to the YCCD community that promote health, safety, and environmental stewardship."

Regulatory Compliance

EHS provides services to help ensure the Yuba Community College District is compliant with regulatory requirements established at the local, state and federal level.

Workplace Safety

The YCCD Workplace Safety program objectives include improving and maintaining the safety of the campus work environment through diligent recognition, continual evaluation, and the reduction of campus hazardous conditions. Improved safety will reduce the number and severity of staff, faculty and student injuries through workplace training programs and through the implementation of safe work practices. Complying with regulatory requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will help provide a continued safe workplace and campus community.

These YCCD Workplace Safety program objectives will be accomplished through:

  • Provision of a wide variety of health and safety programs such as: Measure J construction safety, electrical safety, accident prevention, the importance of computer workstation ergonomics, and emergency action planning.
  • Regular safety inspections of various workplaces and the campus grounds, athletic facilities and walkways.
  • Safety training to all campus community members on a plethora of topics such as reducing slips and falls, providing improved back care/safe lifting, developing safe computer workstations ergonomics, and safe workplace maintenance practices.
  • Investigations of workplace accidents by Keenan and Associates.
